Leading the Moonachie Fire Department and overseeing all fireground operations, training, and the readiness of every member and apparatus.
Read Full BioChief Dressel joined the Moonachie Fire Department in 1983 as a volunteer giving his time to the town. Shortly after, he became a police dispatcher and then a police officer, serving the same community in uniform before retiring as a Sergeant. To this day, he continues to look out for Moonachie through fire prevention work, helping keep local homes and businesses safe as a Fire Inspector and Fire Official. And after more than four decades of service, he's still answering the call as a volunteer — currently serving as Chief of the Department.

Chief Halloran joined the Moonachie Fire Department in 2013. Outside of the firehouse, he works as a freelance broadcast engineer, with credits on some of the biggest stages in sports — the Super Bowl, the World Series, the Masters, and Yankees games among them. When he's not on the job, he treasures time spent with his family. Even with a demanding career, he still makes serving his town a priority — leading training, managing the department's apparatus, running its social media, and helping bring in the next generation of volunteers through recruitment.

Chief O'Neill joined the Moonachie Fire Department in 1977. Over his long working life he spent decades on the job, putting in years with Signature Aviation and Williams Gas before retiring. Away from work, he has a soft spot for antique cars and can spot a classic just about anywhere — and nothing beats time with his grandkids. After more than four decades of service, he's still giving back to the town, today taking care of the firehouse itself and keeping it ready for the next call.

Captain Smith joined the Moonachie Fire Department in 1990, signing up as a volunteer while he was still a senior in high school. Outside of the firehouse, he built a career as an Operations Manager at Signature Aviation down the block and raised a family — these days you'll often find him in the stands cheering on his sons at their hockey games. He still makes time to serve, answering calls as a firefighter in both Moonachie and Little Ferry, captaining the First Aid and Rescue Squad, and looking out for the town through fire prevention work as a longtime Fire Inspector and EMT.

Captain Migliorino joined the Moonachie Fire Department in 1999. That same year he also began serving the community in uniform, and today he's a Sergeant on the Police Department. When he's not on duty, you'll find him as the youth football and softball coach. These days, he keeps the team ready to respond as Captain, overseeing uniforms, equipment, and SCBA gear.

Mark is a true jack of all trades. By day he's been with Twin Towing in Belleville since 2001, and he's never happier than when he's under the hood, always working on something, always tinkering with a truck. At the firehouse, he puts those same hands-on skills to work as Chief Engineer, keeping the department's apparatus running and ready to roll.

Lieutenant Finch joined the Moonachie Fire Department in 2021. Away from the firehouse, Finch has a taste for adventure, a lover of travel, zip lining, and roller coasters, and brings that same energy to work as a ride operator and dispatcher at Nickelodeon Universe and a ropes course trainer. His thrill-seeking spirit carries right over to serving the town as a firefighter and Lieutenant.

Lieutenant Dressel joined the Moonachie Fire Department in 2015. By day he works as a gas street mechanic for PSEG, and when he's off the clock you'll find him out on the golf course or spending time with family and friends. He still makes serving his town a priority, helping keep the department sharp and ready as a Lieutenant overseeing training and equipment.
Every officer started as a volunteer who answered the call. You can too.
